What I thought of the book:
Mr. Snipes grabs your attention from the very first paragraph and he never lets it go. This book actually describes what a lot of us struggle with on a daily basis. I am not just talking about how drugs have touched us in some way but how some of us have that doubt or lack of faith in our creator. I for one believe we were but on this earth for a specific job, that there is a higher being and that we will be called to the great beyond when our job is completed. However, I can’t say that this higher being is God or if it is just something we just can’t really explain.
This book will give the reader a different perspective on religion. Mr. Snipes gives his readers not only scriptures but also gives a brief look into why we doubt our faith. Did this book change the way I feel about religion? It has me thinking why I feel the way I do about religion. My family or at least some of them are very religious and I was raised around religion.
Did this book help with some of the questioning of why something so tragic happens to good people? Yes in a way. Thank you Mr. Snipes for using that crack in the window to place a seed for me to plant so I can feed it with knowledge that no matter what as long as I ask there will be help when it is truly needed.
Great Page Turner! Borrow this book from your library, a friend or purchase it just grab a copy and read it!

Summary:
Tucked away in a little place in Oregon called Magic’s Bend lives 3 firesouls. Nix, Cass and Del own a magical treasure-hunting business which was about to get robbed or at least the robbers thought. Nix finds herself following 2 of the robbers into an unknown portal and ends up in a dark alley but where? She saw something she should not have, she tried to help and in return she is being held by the Vampire courts as a suspect to a murder.
What I thought of the book:
Let me start off by saying this book is an easy read if you don’t have young children, several crochet projects or a busy life. (Like who doesn’t have a busy life)I don’t do spoiler alerts and very seldom do I do quotes from the book. I want each reader to have their own experience with the book.
I thought this book was well written, the author snatches you to attention from the very first page and holds on to your attention until the very end, and the story doesn’t confuse you when it goes from present to past. The author does leave you hanging on to your seats at the end but hey that is what a good 1st book of a series does. If you have a kindle or the kindle reading app and the kindle unlimited subscription this book is free to read.
Ending:
Can Nix find the real murder in time or will the Vampire court find her not only guilty of a murder but the magical secret she is hiding. What will happen to Cass and Del if Nix is found guilty or if her magical secret is discovered? Read the book to find out.

Summary:
Jerusalem has been invaded by the Roman Legion; it was either become a slave of the Romans or flee into the desert and remain hidden to survive. Several hundred Jews walked into that desert without really knowing if they would survive or die. Those that survived the desert made it to the Masada Fortress and would become part of a community that would hold off the Roman Legion for years. Although everyone in this community has strength and courage of their own but there are five women who breathe life into these pages by the hand of Ms. Hoffman. The history that has inspired this book is not lost because it is intertwined with magic but is given a new life all of its own. My favorite character of this book is Aziza because she proves that her gender does not make her useless.
What I thought of the book:
This book opens a new world to its reader, it shows how a woman is treated and how an individual with different markings or beliefs are viewed by others. Even in the year of A.D women were to be seen, not heard, and at a man’s beckon call with no voice of her own. She was not allowed to think for herself, speak for herself and was not allowed to protect herself. Hmm in some ways woman still live like this. However, Ms. Hoffman shows that without a woman back then a man would not be able to take care of himself. Hmm again in some ways it is still like that. This book depicts everything that a woman does is not to obey a man or to serve a man it is to survive and keep her child(ren) safe. Every woman in this story has a lesson attached to her; every man in this story has a lesson attached to him and with each tradition or religion within these pages there is a new yearning to learn more about that tradition or religion. All I can do is advice you to either borrow it from the library / friend or purchase it. Just read it!
Thank you Ms. Maggie for recommending this author and book to me.

He was trying to tell her something but his demanor scared her abit. After the open house was over, herself, Sadie, Blake (Sadie's husband) and Todd (a friend of Sadie and Blakes) cleaned up they heard a loud thud but decided that it was a trash can knocked over. Was this the right move for Marcy and Angus, or was it the biggest mistake of her life? Did her friend Sadie have other intentions in mind, did Blake or Todd a man she barely knows? Will Marcy ever be the same again? Will she stay in Tallulah Falls or pack up as fast as she can and move back to San Francisco to beg for her old job back? What will her customers and students think of her shop after this?
The main suspects are Marcy and Sadie but what is the crime? If they didn't do it who did?

Ms. Henson is known for her strong femal leading roles. But do we really know her? When I first saw her in Baby boy I knew any movie she was in I must watch and own. Ms. Henson has a story like so many of us. She was born to loving parents, raised by her mother, lived in the hood and was her own person with big dreams. The only thing that makes her childhood different than so many of us is that her father wanted and was present in her life.
To me Ms. Henson has showed everyone courage, determination, and hustle will get you what you want out of life. She shows us there is more to a person than just where he / she lives, how he / she was raised and wether or not he / she went to college.
Her book gives us a look into her story and how she hustled in a positive way to get to where she is. When reading this book I could see part of my life written with these pages. Ms. Henson is so down right truthful not only with herself but to everyone. She doesn't use or give any excuses for anything and she gives a rough outline how to become an actress.
Like her movies she is outspoken in this book and that is why I'm a fan. She doesn't sugar coat anything, she doesn't act fake to your face, and dog you out behind your back. Ms Henson calls it as she sees it. If you are being grimmy and throwing shade you best believe she is going to call you out on it. She shows her true colors out here in this world and within these pages. Ms. Henson breathes life into any character she plays.
Quotes:
"I was to train my eyes not on the misfortune, set backs, or possibility of failure, but on living - real living - without fear."
"My father may have put the fire in my heart but my mother taught it how to beat. They both showed me by example how to be fearless."
